Pete's demise

Anyone know what happened to Stephen W. Burns, who played Pete? He was quite handsome, and died at an early age in 1990. Was it drugs? AIDS? Anybody know?

reply

According to IMDb and Wikipedia his death was AIDS related

According to Wikipedia and a couple of other web sites, Stephen died from AIDS in 1990.

I believe that after a car accident in 1984 he received a blood transfusion and contracted AIDS.

What makes you think there was a car accident he was in in 1984, there is no documentation of that. He was gay and died of AIDS during the first wave of deaths in 1990, when the US government was doing virtually nothing. Please do not re-write history in order to serve your personal goals.

At least there will be plenty implied.

And where is your evidence to back up this claim?

Wow, it took you one minute to respond to my post on an old obscure movie. Anyway, the guy never married and died at a young age of AIDS. You try to imply that he wasn't gay by inventing a car crash and tainted blood infusion. I'm just going by the obvious truth.

At least there will be plenty implied.

Why do people say things like this? Notifications dumbass. It's not like he was hitting F5 on the Herbie Goes Bananas board for months without stopping.

Well the tainted blood in the early 80s is entirely plausible. A friend of mine whose dad was a hemopheliac got infected with HIV for a tainted blood transfusion. Back then they didn't really screen whole blood for HIV. My friend's dad suffered through all of the awful side effects of the early HIV drugs. It was an awful thing to deal with. So unless you can back up your claim do not discount the possibility of tainted blood being the cause of his death.

His biography says he contracted HIV/AIDS in 1984 through untested blood received in an emergency surgery after an accident, from which he died in 1990; there's nada about him engaging in homosexual activity. Lesson? Don't assume things.
