Best Hamlet?

IMHO Jacobi's BBC performance is superior to Olivier's screen version, and the equal of Richard Burton's taped stage performance. Anyone?

Jacobi is the Messiah of Hamlets. No other screen versions even come close no matter how good they are. And I doubt that any stage productions can match Jacobi!

The production values were only TV-good...but his performance was by far the best. Also, Picard as Claudius is a major bonus.

Yes, Jacobi was one of the greatest Hamlets since Olivier. Absolutely no doubt about it. Totally riveting, totally accessible, totally real, and made you UNDERSTAND this play.

IMHO not since Barrymore in the 1920s stage has there been a Hamlet that can even be looked at.
I actually did not care much for Burton's. The quality sucked and I didn't feel anything.

You know who I think would have made a perfect Hamlet? Peter O'Toole.
