and why do they kill him?

He's meant to be Mick Jagger. It's there to represent punk putting to death the Rock old guard like the Stones, Beatles, Floyd etc....

No, Mick Jagger. In the Who Killed Bambi screenplay he's even written as "M.J.", and Russ Meyer wanted Jagger to play the part. Like that would have ever happened...
