Any word on a release date anytime soon. It's been long out of print on VHS & it's rarely ever played on cable. It's one of my all time favorite 80's summer camp comedies & it's the one & only chance to see Dennis Quaid play a crazed(as Michael Lembeck's character puts it) & militant lunatic(in a no-brainer, hysterically funny sort of way). A DVD is long overdue!
shareI appeared in a small role in GORP. I can't believe it has even one fan out there! It was so much fun shooting in Madison Georgia all those years ago and working with Quaid, Rosanna Arquette (whom I saw recently) and the other actors was a blast. I was only about 14 yrs old at the time and being on location with that group was really an eye opening experience.
Glad that someone liked it. Not many have seen it. I agree, a DVD would be nice, but I wouldn't hold my breath!

I was also a HUGE fan of Gorp from 1980. Glad to see there are other fans. I used to have a copy of it on VHS recorded off of cable some years ago and can't find it to save my life. Would LOVE to see it again. In the 90's I found a copy on VHS - can't find that either - it was odd that they actually changed some of the music during the record / fight scene. Guess they couldn't get the rights to use it - but it changed it so much.
vernonscott4 - who / where were you in the movie? That must have been such a great time. Wish I could have been a part of that movie.
The girl who played Vicki - Lisa Shure - too bad she disappeared - she was gorgeous!
But anyway I hope they put that on DVD - I'd even settle for VHS again...

sharei love dennis quaid. i have all of his movies except this. i finally found wilder napalm on dvd, i wan't gorp on dvd. what's the hold up? all the movies of big stars should be on dvd. it's fun to watch oldest to the newest and watch them perfect their acting career, and see why they became top actors. dennis is one of the best. we need GORP on dvd now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
