Phil Hartman

Just noticed when I watched this that Phil Hartman has one of his first appearances in a movie. He has a short bit as a man with a gun in the airport in Santa Fe. It is about 3/4 through the movie when Chuck Barris is buying a plane ticket to Morocco.

You also can find Phil in an Activision Ice Hockey video game commericial in the early eighties before SNL? It's somewhere on YouTube. I think I also read somewhere that he helped Paul Reubens a.k.a Pee-Wee Herman to get that character started by writing some joke material.

Somehow I recognized him right away in this movie, even though he looked different than how I'm used to seeing him. Thanks for the information! I'll look for that commercial on YouTube.

Phil Hartman not only helped write with Reubens, he played the salty Captain Carl in the 'Pee-Wee Herman Show' aired on HBO in 1981 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32O2nqL9FvA), reprising the role for the first season of the CBS children's show 'Pee-Wee's Playhouse' (1986-1990) which also featured the character Cowboy Curtis portrayed by Laurence (oh, HELL no!) Fishburne!

We lost Hartman too soon.

Guns are bad, mmkay?
You shouldn't shoot good comedians with guns.
