Was there a micro-plane involved in this?

It must be this movie or one of its sequels that had a micro-plane equipped with its own parachute. What was that plane?

reply

That was in the sequel, The Gods Must Be Crazy II. Don't know any more details, but it was almost as funny as the car in this one.

reply

Well, I have forgotten about that too. And what was the car?

reply

The reason why the car in the first film and the microplane in the sequel were involved in so many mishaps, I think, was to show that they were additional "characters", though somewhat inanimate, aimed towards supplying the two movies with extra comic relief. As for the car, I believe it was a Land Rover. If not, it was probably something modeled off of a Land Rover.

Thanks for the info. It may have been a Tata, made in South Africa with Mercedes Benz parts.

I second mpudi21's answer. I certainly believe that the car and plane are meant to be characters in their own right
I personally think they are supposed to characterise civilised man, and re-affirm the narration at the beginning of the film about all the technology making life too complicated for people.
When you see the amount of stuff that goes wrong with those two machines it is not difficult to feel that the bushmen have it better!
