If you thought this was funny..

you must have one hell of a weird sense of humor. This isn't even like stupid funny humor its just plain stupid.

reply

If you think this is not funny you don't understand it at all.
It's not stupid, it's very intelligent and the only film that I rated a 10 yet.

reply

Strange but I thought it was stupid and we walked out. The audience was laughing like crazy, maybe we were too ripped. I'll have to give it another shot. A VW bug in a tree? What is so funny about that?

reply

it's slapstick. if you don't find physical comedy funny, you will not enjoy this movie. i loved it as a kid, and still get a few lighthearted chuckles out of it now. it's more of a family flick than anything else, don't be too harsh.

1) Its a land rover, just wanted to clear that up.

2) The funny part was HOW the land rover got in the tree.

How can this movie not be funny? It can make you howl with laughter when we see how the bushman sees the modern world. When the car drives by and he`s asleep, he wakes up and the narrator speaks: "A very noisy animal passed by. It left very peculiar tracks, like two enormous snakes". Isn`t that funny?

It kinda reminds me of the animation movie "Over the Hedge". The animals there experiences almost the same as the bushman is doing when he enters the modern society.

reply

It doesn't have to be a weird sense of humor, just a functioning sense of humor.

reply

This is like the reason I see comedy movies! I probaly come close to suffocating every time I watch this film.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

reply

Wrong.

It was weird, but it was funny to me. You have to be able to appreciate slightly silly humour, with a good dose of irony in there.

The comedy is a combination of deadpan, (where the speaker, often a narrator, talks like he's completely serious, but what he's saying is ridiculous), slapstick (physical comedy, in the form of violence, clumsiness etc.) and irony, which is self-explanatory enough.

It's intelligent comedy, I don't expect many people to understand it or like it.

reply

most younger people probably wouldn't get it since the comedies today mostly consist of weed, beer and sex jokes.

reply

Yes it's rather unfortunate. I'm 15 years old, I live in a rather lonely world when it comes to comedy.
