Innate Human Curiosity

I don't understand how a small group of people can live within travelling distance of civilisation, and just assume they're the only people on the planet. Humankind doesn't know whether we're alone in the universe, so we're launching space missions to try to find out. I can't believe that none of these bushmen had gone exploring before, but rather just stayed in their own habitat and never wondered about what's being their tribe.

reply

well, some peoples go out to explore, while others..don't.

It's very interesting you say that, because recent genetic shows that we are all descendants of these very same Bushmen. If the Bushmen did not go exploring 70,000 years back, you wouldn't be here writing this.

First, the bushmen of that era (70's-80's) weren't that "uncivilized".

Second, as some others pointed out, many of them did get out. I guess that those that were very adventurous and curious got out, while those that weren't stayed in, hence the creation of too distinct subpopulations!
