Plot Hole? (Spoilers)

Maybe I missed something as the version I saw may have been edited or cut down for television. But I have two questions that hopefully can be answered.

1. Xi was traveling because he needed to destroy "The Evil Thing." It was described as being the color of water but harder than anything he has ever held. We're suppose to understand that Xi was unfamiliar with glass. However during the scene towards the end when he is stalking the bad guys, Steyn gives him a vial of tranquilizer fluid. The vial was made from glass, no? I suppose it could have been made of plastic, but would Xi really know the difference? Wouldn't Xi have immediatly associated this vial as being a smaller version of "The Evil Thing?"

2. Same scene, the schoolgirl runs to the group and states she is suppose to wave her congo and alert the soldiers to drop food every ten miles instead of twenty. In order to get Xi closer to the bad guys, they dress him up in the schoolgirl's clothes. So what happened to the girl? I assume they may have told her to work her way back to the village, or maybe hide somewhere, but isn't she naked now? How did she feel about disrobing in front of three strange men? It's trite, I know, but it still distanced me from the mood of the movie and bugged the hell out of me. Did I miss something there?

Also a tiny bow & arrow doesn't work the same way as a full-size bow & arrow. It's movie magic, not a plot hole. I have bigger questions than the ones you posed but I just started checking these boards.

"It's like I'm talking to my Aunt Sylvia here!"

I just watched the movie, and if you look closely, when the girl hands her yellow clothes to Xi, she is still wearing something - it's purple and it fully covered her... and she was behind a rock, not in front of the three men.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I must have blinked when that was revealed.

By the time Xi gets the little bottle, he's starting to understand a bit the different world that exists. But he still sees the Coke bottle as some evil thing that fell off the sky, whereas nothing else fell of the sky.
