The Waitress


It's a minor point, but when the kid orders pie and ice cream, waitress serves him something else he didn't ask for. He asks about his order and she says "You want it?" I don't understand what happened, why would a waitress do that?

Yeah, I found this odd too.
It's also strange how she walks away after taking their order. Like she's pondering it-trying to figure it out. Strange scene.

I think the waitress did give him “pie,” but it was not good quality. It might have been squished up or broken in pieces in something, which is why he asks “what is this?” Their pie didn’t look like typical pie.

She asks “you want it?” as a courtesy, to ensure that he wants to eat the item in front of him.
