What is Maetel? *may contain spoilers*

I've seen this movie two times now and I love it, but I'm still confused of what Maetel really is. She's not robot, that was revealed in the x-ray scene. Yet, she's not really human either. She has her body somewhere in Pluto and she moves her spirit to different bodies? She says she has Tetsuro's mothers body, but wasn't that stuffed on Count Mecha's wall?

If anyone could please calmly explain what Maetel really is to me, I'd be very glad.

She's biologically human, as her body is that of Tetsuro's mother. Her mind however is alien. She implies that she has lived many lives, slipping into a new body when the one she inhabits grows old or ill.

She is given the body of Tetsuro's mother, and Count Mecha is given a replica of that body for his trophy room.

Maetel's purpose would seem to be that of a trap or lure. She uses her beauty to bring young men to the machine planet, where they are then mechanized and used in the maintenance of the planet, much like is planned for Tetsuro.

Ultimately she is an enigma in some respects, and that is how Matsumoto always intends her to be.

Where do you get the idea that Maetel has Tetsuro's mother's real body
and that Count Mecha had a replica? I believe it's stated that she
has a "copy" of his mother's body, like a clone.

wikipedia has this to say:
"Maetel's soul exists in the body of a human copy, which she occupies until it grows old and she exchanges it for a new one. It is explained in the movie version that she occupies a clone of the body of Tetsuro's mother, which explains the resemblance between the two."

This goes for the movies, the original manga and tv series may
have had a different explanation.
