25th Anniversary Widescreen Edition Available!

Good news for Galaxina fans (closeted and otherwise.) I just picked up the special widescreen 25th Anniversary Edition. I didn't even know it was out until I was just browsing at Best Buy; got it for a whopping $15. It's sitting right beside me as I type this; haven't even gotten home to watch it yet. From the cover, I can say this:

In addition to a new High Def transfer (which I'm sure blows away that horrid Rhino DVD release), it contains:
* Audio commentary with writer/director William Sachs and star Stephen Macht (Thor)
* Audio interview with Sachs
* Still galleries and storyboards
* Original script and shooting script (on DVD ROM)
* Reprints from Starlog and Fangoria articles (on DVD ROM)
* Six-page booklet on Dorothy Stratten
* Additional footage from International cut

Sure, this movie has plenty of faults, but in all it's just good, low-budget, silly fun. Relax, break out the green wine, and enjoy!

That's great news. I had no idea there was a 25th Anniverary Edition, think I'll buy it right away.
I remember seeing somewhere that it was coming out on HD, couldn't believe it since it's apparently not that popular. What's the release date?

Thanks for the info.

Just bought the 25th Anniversary Edition and it's excellent. It's got Dolby Digital and DTS, a commentary and some other extras.
The only problem is it's shorter. The version I already had is the international version, which is a few minutes longer. Apparently the distributors added the few minutes, without the Director's involvement. The missing scenes are on the new Dvd as deleted scenes.
The film seems a little odd now as I'm used to seeing it with all the added scenes, but what the hell. Can't wait for the HD version.

I will have to admit, the movie does grow on you.

Keep taking the illegal substances .. this is as bad as it gets, with the exception of the dead totty ...
Only one worse from that era .. Hawk The Slayer!

BTW what happened to the sequel... they promised one ... Jack Palance has been dead three years now , so it is going to be difficult ...
