Saw this for the first time last time (uncut Japanese version) and enjoyed it very much. What's cut from the American releases?

As much as I enjoyed VIRUS, that ridiculous scene was wrong on so many levels!!! Firstly, having a "five year old" speaking on the radio in what is obviously a female actor's voice trying to pass off as a kid, then having "him" speak such an utterly inane monologue, followed by him instantly committing suicide (and just how did he keep his finger on the mic button while all THAT was going on??) and the overwraught reactions of all the Japanese scientists! (No, Toby!!). I couldn't find it funny because it was just so embarrassing.
The business with the nurse "saving" the boy in the boat by going on a planned one-way trip was no joke though.
The boy identified himself as Toby Anderson. "He" was played by Marcello Krakoff - a boy, not a woman.

They did have a subtitled version that had better editing... i have never seen it in dvd form..
This scene would've worked much better had the voice for Toby not been so over-the-top. When you really think about it, it's really dark and sad scene. Then the voice kicks in and it really kind of ruins it.
I have to give it up to those on screen at that point for playing it very well. It's just too bad that what got dubbed into the mix for it doesn't do them justice.
get the jp version w subs(rename mpg to vob & burn!)from archive.org (7 files of 1 gb)this version is 2 h 30 min. & make sense(for a Nippon disaster movie,w everyone speaking english..living & boning the 8 women on Antarctica:) lol..
