If you like this movie...

...then you'll certainly like the movie "On the Beach" with Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire and Anthony Perkins. "On the Beach" predates this movie by 20 years, but both have a very similar end of the world by doomsday machine storyline.

"Day of Resurrection" attempts to be grander in scope than "On the Beach", but that is probably one of its failings. "On the Beach" is a tighter storyline, higher production values and probably a little more realistic. Both are excellent movies in the "end of the world" genre however.
