Took A Chance

The First Deadly Sin was a great film. How many rich and well connected psychopaths get away with murder? Or how many middle class get away with murder? Delaney realized this and decided to administer justice. I wonder where Lawrence Sanders got his inspiration for the book. Perhaps shooting through the glass altered the markings on the bullet? I mean why risk losing a German Luger?
I so wanted to know what made this monster. Wooden blocks on his feet? Was he tortured?

Blank was abused by an older man, probably his father -- this comes to light as he unravels when Delaney is standing over him in his apartment. Delaney, and the men he killed, seemed to resemble his abuser, hence his fear as Delaney stalks him. The luger was most likely an unregistered gun, and a nice stylish addition to a film that kept quirk at bay. Whilst, the shooting of Blank through the glass was another stylish flourish that, in a sense, shattered Blank's delusions, but also stands as a metaphor for Delaney breaking all the rules to get Blank.

I wonder if the Blank character (upscale NYC executive moonlights as serial killer) was an inspiration for "American Psycho's" Patrick Bateman?
