Some dvd company should release a special edition of this film. It could have the director's cut of the film, a trailer, and a stills gallery. I'm not sure what else could be on the disc though. Possibly have a second disc with The Exterminator 2, with the same supplements as the first. (I believe there was a making of featurette for the second one though.)
shareThe director's cut of the first is for sale everywhere here in Belgium, it has the trailer and that's about it.

Never even came across the trailer Exterminator 2 or the soundtrack.
I too want to see both Exterminator movies on DVD. The original was released as a Director's Cut but it's now out of production and hard to find, and it goes for some very high prices (as much as $50 on some sites!). Other than being the Director's Cut it had no supplements at all. A Special Edition re-release with the DC, plus other supplments would be nice. E2 needs an SE DVD as well, and does anyone know if any scenes were cut from E2?
On a side note, I only saw E2 (I have it taped off ActionMax from a few weeks back) and have yet to see E1. I do however want to see E1 badly, but only the DC (I can't bear to watch a movie that's been hacked up by the ratings board).

My favorite "Taxi Driver" clone, and one of the most graphic and sadistic vigilante movies of all time. Very controversial in 1980, when I first saw it at the theaters. I have the new DVD on order right now, and can't wait to add it to my library. I'm thrilled it has been rereleased, because it was almost impossible to find, except occasionally at Ebay for enormous prices. Great movie in my opinion, and a gorehounds delight. Don't miss it this time folks, before it disappears again.

shareIts 1.85:1, but it's just a copy of the old anchor bay DVD. A bootleg and its not remastered like the box says. To remaster a movie you must strike a master from the camera negative and master it in 16x9 wide screen. Tango has not done this. They are just another bootleg company.
shareThat's right. My copy even had several sound drop-outs right in the middle of critical conversations during the film. It also feels like a couple of scenes were edited out of this so-called director's cut.
shareI wonder what the TANGO "director of sales" woman would say about their film's shortcomings. Or rather, their release's shortcomings. What a cheap job. Their office is in Santa Monica, not too far from where I live. I should walk by and see if they are still in business. This has to be one of the most bare bones releases I've ever seen.
