how does han get his gun back after vader force grabs it?

did he get it back? did he have a new gun in rotj?

reply

Um... no........ I don't think he got it back, rat.

reply

I'd imagine there are more of his blaster guns stored in the Falcon somewhere.

reply

Exactly what I assumed.

Did anyone poo or pee?

No, it was a different gun. In fact, there are noticeable differences in Han's sidearm in all three movies. He used a different prop gun in each movie, all built on a C96 "broomhandle" Mauser pistol, but nonetheless a different one each time. Given the noticeable differences in each gun (in the case of the TESB and ROTJ guns, the ROTJ version had a slightly different flash hider, and the scope was mounted using a slightly different mount, that put the scope higher up on the side of the gun), one would naturally infer that after being freed from the carbonite, Han replaced the sidearm he had lost at Bespin with a different gun of the same model, which had similar accessories mounted to it.

You’re thinking of Boba Fett’s rifle.

No, I'm not. Here are images of all three versions of Han Solo's Blastech DL44 heavy blaster pistol, used in ANH, TESB, and ROTJ respectively.

Here is ANH: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/8/8c/Han_Solo_DL-44_TFA.png/revision/latest?cb=20230418141836

You can see the long scope, finned greebly on the front of the Mauser's magazine, and the flash hider same color as the rest of the blaster (it was an actual flash hider from the German MG 81 machine gun), some sort of sleeve over the barrel behind the flash hider, etc.

Here is TESB: https://blasterfactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/alum-dl44-han-bespin-1.jpg

This is a replica, but it's the best photo I could find. The scope is shorter (it's an M19 scope from the sighting system of a Sherman tank), and the flash hider is a custom piece machined from aluminum, no sleeve over the barrel behind the flash hider. Luke had an almost identical blaster, but some of the greeblies on it were different.

Here is ROTJ: https://www.ripleys.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Sequence-03.00_00_21_10.Still003.jpg

You can see the scope and scope mount are different, and the scope is mounted higher up on the pistol than on the TESB version; flash hider is again a custome piece machined from aluminum, but different -- you can't see in this photo, but the muzzle end was a flat, recessed surface, with a smaller-diameter hole bored in the center, where the TESB blasters had a wide open muzzle end.

All three films, Han had different blasters. As I said, in-story, you'd just assume he acquired another, similar one to replace the one taken from him on Bespin when he was captured.

I'm sure Vader gave it back to him since he doesn't use guns

Too clumsy and random something something...
