Darth Vader is not black; he is a white guy wearing a black suit and just so happened to be voiced by a black actor; it literally has nothing to do with skin color. This is kind of an insane conclusion and one of the reasons many people are having a hard time taking the examples of real racism and prejudice seriously. It is the provirbial boy who cried wolf scenario; if everything is percieved and called out as 'racist' then people stop listening (dissensitization through repeat exposure).
Also, isn't fatherless homes like one of the major crisis negatively impacting the black community. Something like 65% of black children are raised in single parent (almost always the father is one that is not present). shareI am not familiar with the joke from the 90's but I don't think people were as sensitive back then; so a 'joke' like this would not actually 'offend' anyone. In addition to that; the cancel culture is insane right now, so it would not be that far out of reach to say something like "Star Wars is racist because the only black person is a bad guy" or "Star Wars cast was way too white". I think stuff like this is said with 100% seriousness. So the OP, if they were being satirical it would actually be hard to tell.

shareYes, back in the 80's and 90's comedians would make jokes about 'extreme' PC culture but today that extreme that was intended to be humorous is now an actual segment of the PC culture. Look at L'Oréal removing the words "lightening" and "whitening" from their skin products descriptions; because it is "offensive", I mean that is just patently ridiculous.

The point I was making though is that the reason it is hard to tell satire from authentic because the authentic outrage culture has become so off the walls insane that it is harder to tell.
