The tear factor


Whenever I get into a discussion with people about films that make you cry, I always put this one at the top of my list. I've cried quite uncontrollably when watching this before and can't think of anything that comes close in the tears stakes. Some runners up include:

Schindler's List

Ghost (pathetic I know)

This was deliberately made not to be sentimental through. It would be made quite differently today with pause for tears moments with many violin and orchestrial moments telling us to cry.

Take the part where John asks the dr if he can be cured and dr simply says no, john says oh, and fade to black. Today they would have milked that scene for all they could. Sentimental music,, a crying elephant man, maybe even a dr hugging him
