Is There a Movie much sadder than this Masterpiece !!

btw this movie truly changed my life, and I think every person must watch this movie to know what does mean a human-being.

I don't know if you like anime, but Hotaru no haka (1988) is much sadder, imo. Also La vita รจ bella (1997).

Both are really great movies, but I felt more sadness in the elephant man than grave of the fireflies even I watched grave of the fireflies before The elephant man.
I'll try the italian movies thanks for the suggestions.

reply

maybe you should try some Italian films like Cinema paradiso, or the bicycle thieves ;-)

I agree. This beloved movie is one of my favorite movies and definitely the saddest I have ever seen.

There's just so many scenes that make you tear up.
*beep* me.
They should've called the film Crocodile Tears FFS.

I'm declaring this Lynch's masterpiece without question.

reply

It's one of the few films in cinematic history that I consider flawless.

I'm stunned by how perfect it is every time I watch it.

10/10

I never thought I'd cry over a Lynch film :'(

This movie is so powerfully moving that watching the original trailer alone will make you sob. There are about 10 scenes in this movie that are touching, three of which are likely to make you lose it.

The 23rd Psalm scene
The Train Station scene
And of course...the ending

I think the only movie that out depresses this film is Hachi: A Dog's Tale. I have never watched a more depressing movie.

reply

I don't think so, however... Hachi: A Dog's Tale had me bawling. It is based on a true story and is a "remake" of Hachiko: A Dog's Story.

Bambi and Black Beauty made me cry but this one really did me in.

I had the chance to work with Michael Jackson who was as brilliant as they come.
Tommy Mottola

OMG! I was just about to write this. Hachi is by far the most painful movie I have ever seen. I cried the entire time and for at least an hour afterwards. Witnessing undying devotion like that absolutely tears my soul apart.
