I am a fan of Rick's; and this is an exceptional movie. My one gripe had to do with Rick's thick New Yawk accent when he wore a UCLA sweatshirt the whole movie. He lost the accent shortly afterwards.
shareWell, it is possible that he and his parents had recently moved to L.A. from New York before their fateful trip Down Under. What's really odd is why they didn't just cast American actors as the parents. Dad (Jack Thompson) was Australian and Mom (Olivia Hamnett) was British.
