This movie deserves better!

Only a 3 rating?! C'mon, this is a good cult film.

Dont Go In The House is a crazy film.Very underrated. You have to enjoy films paced in this fashion though. "You'll steal the show".

This film is just wrong! And I don't mean that in a good way! Setting women or anyone for that matter on fire is just wrong. When he stripped that girl naked and burned her that has to be the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. I was complaining about the burning scene in Final Destination 3 but that has nothing on this. And not in a good way. I'm a huge 80's slasher/horror fan and I must say that this is a piece of sh it movie. The pshyco illusions are pathtic and that particular scene were he burns the naked girl is more then disturbing and I don't mine disturbing but that was way to much. That looked to real and was pretty lengthy. It had no cut aways or anything, it is a disrespectful movie to women and it shocks me that there are people sick enough to come up with scripts like this. It shocks me that females had courage to take part in this film, did they read the script? This is worst then the trashy "I Spit On Your Grave" movie! If you like this movie then you are truely a sick fu ck! All copies of this movie deserve to be burned!

While I agree with you, tastiebernie, that I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE is indeed trash (it's one of the few movies ever that I found truly offensive - and I own a copy of BLOODSUCKING FREAKS!), I have to disagree with you on DON'T GO IN THE HOUSE.
I don't know what it is, but I like it (which makes me a sick *beep* obviously). There's no accounting for taste, I guess.
And females have taken part in movies worse than this content-wise. Have you ever seen BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD? The director himself won't even admit that he had anything to do with it!

My apologies, for my freak out, but I just don't see why someone would write a movie like this, and I just really hate that scene that was way to much. I like many horror fans watch movies like these for fun, but this movie seemed more like a women hating movie, that a bunch of women haters would love. Sorry I don't mean to call you a sick fu ck. I apologize for that I guess we all have different tastes.

It's cool! I didn't take it personally. I know that it's a hard movie to watch.
As a matter-of-fact, I watched it again recently (while transfering my VHS copy to DVD) and I'd forgotten how brutal it really was.
The special effects are pretty convincing even by today's standards.

And just for the record, I don't hate women. I just like bad movies and the male lead of DON'T GO IN THE HOUSE is such a bad actor...

It's at 5.1 now, which still seems rather low. I gave it 6/10.

Funny how people complain when something in a movie doesn't look real but they can think something looks too real as well. You know full well no one was harmed in the making of this movie and if the burning scene made you feel especially uncomfortable, you were supposed to feel uncomfortable about how big of a dangerous nutjob the guy was, not how real the burning looked. He probably did the exact same thing to the stalled car lady and he would have done the exact same thing to lady in the grocery store and the ladies he took home off the street. Be thankful they didn't show the stalled car lady's death as well as the grocery lady's (if he got her). Once is enough to let you know what he did to his victims. Any more than once- then it would be too much.

So yes, this movie deserves better. I like it and I don't consider myself a sick *beep* There is worse out there. I think they call them snuff films and the violence is real. The ending is great. Whether the corpses really got up and after him or he hallucinated it is up to viewer interpretation. I like that kind of thing in a movie. Everyone's acting was good, for the most part. The priest could have been acted a little better and what Catholic priest doesn't believe in the devil?

Now 5.7, I gave it a 7/10.

Agreed. This movie is damn creepy and disturbing. 8 out of 10 from me.

The effort they put into making it work shows, especially by the cinematographer. But it still is just a badly written Psycho knockoff. And with all that dubbing it could pass for an Italian film from that era.

Ahh, here is the guy who wrote the one star snowflake review - user Berniewrestle above. You have mistaken. You are not a horror fan. Horror movies are meant to be disrespectful and disturbing "not in a good way", although people may get the wrong idea about them from watching only commercial movies like Final Destination 18.

I Spit On Your Grave is exactly this and does the job much better than "Don't go in the house".

Barn of the Naked Dead is crap but disturbing indeed with its unapologetic sexism.
