In this film, I like Melissa Gilbert; She has innocence, a positive outlook that made this movie wonderful. She still maintains goodness and purity in the world,despite the time of Chaos,war around her shelter.I think the most intense scene is the one where the Van Damm's son creates a chaos when he tries to shut the light. That would make me panic! This is a great performance by Gilbert.

I have no problem with Melissa , however in my view she was horrid in this.
Very hard to sit through this movie. She was not the only one in this, that was really, really bad. But she was horrid ! I felt embarrassed for her !
I bet $$$ that she could not or would not sit through 120 minutes of torture !
This version was just on; as I stated on another thread; switching between this and LHOTH, I could not tell any difference between 'Anne Frank' and Laura Ingalls' but...I did notice at the end of the movie in the credits, it was listed as being released by "Half-Pint Productions". Hmmmm
shareHannah Taylor Gordon was definately better by far. I think Melissa Gilbert was a great little actress in LHOTP, but she just didn't fit the role. Just my opinion :)
