The Criterion blu ray looks and sounds fantastic. Deneuve is stunning in this.

Though not as exciting (or depressing) as Melville's French resistance film Army of Shadows it's a far more personal look at life and art thriving in extraordinary times.

I watched it last night for the first time -- to be honest, mostly to see the young Gerard Depardieu -- and really enjoyed it. I want to see more Truffaut now. And more Depardieu.
