You're a big Morrow fan? Have you picked up Anchor Bay's new special edition of Dirty Marry, Crazy Larry? It's worth a look if you've never seen it. We're trying to get Anchor Bay to release Death Ship but everybody has to keep mailing them! So anybody who can mail them it would be great and maybe we can get this baby in widescreen for the small fan base that loves this. It's very cool to have seen this message board grow a little since I remember when there weren't even postings here.

But to vic, to answer your question this is roughly what Death Ship is about:

A crusise ship full of passengers is on collision course with the titular ship as the film opens and in a scene that is rather strange both ships are traveling at different times of day. They collide and the survivors board the ship only to find that it was once a Nazi torture ship disguised as a freighter and now it roams the ocean looking for blood. Essentially, what happens is that George Kennedy's character is possessed (ala The Shining) by the ship and sets about killing memebers of his party. But the actual ship plays a large roll in it so the film tends to deliver. It's certainly an oddity but that's what makes it work so well. I love the eerie concept; it comes off like a dream. The scariest scenes happen in broad daylight. It's worth it just for Richard Crenna and a very ravishing Jenny Agutter in a cute little top that says TENIS on it! lol

yup please tell me how did they die?

reply

Well, let's see... the first one to die is Saul Rubinek who plays the lounge singer. The ship pulls him up with a deck wire and throws him out and drops him into the water hanging upside down, then it starts it's propellers and drowns him in the wake of the ship. There is an old lady who eats a Nazi peppermint and turns into a sort of leper. The TENIS shirt girl is driven crazy after being locked in a shower stall showering her with blood and then Kennedy throws her overboard. Her beau Nick goes insane and jumps into the cargo hold of the ship which is rife with corpses and stagnant water. And lets see... George Kennedy gets his arm caught in a gear in the engine room after falling and hitting his head badly. I'm pretty sure that's it.

On a sidenote, there isn't much gore in these scenes save for when TENIS girl takes the death shower. The movie is based more on it's atmosphere. If I can be of any more help let me know.
