Listed as a TV Film

in IMDb but doesn't look like one. Reminds me of the small British films of a slightly earlier time - well made and cast, trundling enjoyably along but destined to be the lower half of a doublebill.
I see there is a series of books about Dangerous Davies which I wasn't aware of (I know there is a more recent TV Series but I've never watched it) and now I'm wondering if this was an attempt at a small film series? If so, pity it didn't happen.
