Wolf Dog or German Shepard
In the book I think Kavik is a Malamute/Wolf Hybrid. In this movie the dog appears to be a German Shepard. I'd like to have seen a Husky real Malamute/Wolf hybrid.
shareI'm not sure that a wolf /malamute mix would be as trainable as the German Shepherd. Dog actors are picked by ability and appearance. I can think of a few dog movies taken from books that couldn't use the exact type of dog in the film.
