love this scene...

Loretta: I done wrote me a song Betty Sue. Your mama's a dadgome songwriter now.
Betty Sue Lynn: That's a nice song mama.
Loretta Lynn: Thank you baby

I thought Sissy Spacek's performance was so natural. It was like she was actually Loretta Lynn. I found myself laughing sometimes at how naive she was and the way she said things. She truly deserved her Oscar! :-)

That's a great scene! My husband and I both chuckled at that. She wrote what she knew, and she did a great job of it considering all the distractions around her.

"Have you ever danced with a refrigerator?"

I like the scene where Loretta catches Doolittle with the parrot woman at the fair.

Loretta tells the woman something like: "I don't know who you are. But I know what you are. And woman, if you wanna keep that arm, you better get it offa my husband."

As she and Doolittle get on the bus, she tells him. "Doo, I better not ever catch you with trash like that again. I'm warning you!"

Of course, Doolittle has to pretend like he's not scared of his wife. But you could tell, she meant it and he knew she meant it.
