Had it...and lost it.

I taped this movie back in the late 80s. Unfortunately, the tape broke and I have been unable to find a copy since. Would love to see it again. Despite what the synopsis says, I seem to remember it being as much about Hawthorn as Collingwood. Whatever; anything that comes from the Golden Age of Footy and features the legendary Lou Richards is worth having. Anybody out there who might be able to help?

GO HAWKS!!!

Gonna be on Foxtel this week, TV1, if you have Foxtel try and catch it.

Something has bugged me for ages. When i use to hire this movie out on video years ago it had a scene when Graham Kennedy goes to the strippers dressing room and they have a confrontation and he slaps her in the face. When it was shown on tv this scene was missing, also was very dissapointed to purchase the DVD and also find the scene missing.Does anyone know why this scene was deleted or does the print that Foxtel show still show this scene?

What about the incident in the game when Danny's wedding tackle suddenly pops out of his shorts? That seems to have been edited out of the dvd as well.

Perhaps in these politically correct times it was felt by the censors that slapping a woman just isn't the done thing, unless the context of the story warrants it in the most extreme of cases.

Don't think so! What a waste of time that would be

well, it's not about collingwood, either. it could be set at any sporting club really. i'm pretty sure the original play never references a specific club, and neither does the film, other than the club song playing in the background a couple of times, or a fan shouting 'go collingwood' at the games.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was available at JB, or Amazon.com for that matter.

I saw it last night o Foxtel. Hadn't seen it for ages. The scene with te Parker (Kennedy) slapping the stripper was missing. I didn't see any wedding tackle pop out of the shorts either but I did see a few shots of John Howard's bum, as well as a few other pairs of Collingwood buttocks. Ugh!

It was interesting seeing John Howard as a young actor, as well as a lot of those old players such as Ronnie Wearnmouth, Denis Banks, Rene Kink (Tank O'Donohue!), Peter Moore, Ray Shaw, etc.

The only downside was watching that cowardly thug Jock Riley taking out one of my beloved Bomber-boys in his last game.

When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!

They wear Collingwood guernseys in the film.

Kennedy, Thompson and another bloke have a scene outside the CFC HQ, complete with 'pies logo on the building visible. Also on the glass of the boardroom doors.

But yeah, not mentioned by name but implied visually.

BTW bought the DVD recently from an op-shop: 50 cents!
