The Children (2010)

No its not. I rented it thinking that and was super disappointed as it is crappy with none of the original cheese to make it entertaining :-(

It's not, but I actually thought it was a darn good horror film, unlike the previous poster.

This movie was dreadful. The great thing about the ieiginal is it didn't take itself too seriously. This tries to be a good movie and is not good at it. Nothing goes on for at least 45 minutes with all these closeups of the children that are not really scary at all. The sound engineer was terrible at trying to create chaos and fear. It came off ass annoying. Scene after scene of screaming and chaos with nothing really going on. It felt as if they knew the screenplay wasn't good so they tried the distraction method to which I was watching and asking my friends if they had any idea what actually was goin on right now and everyone was like I have no idea. Here's an idea if your gonna try and make a horror flick thats to be taken serious shoot it well and write a decent screenplay. I wasn't scared of any of these kids. And for goodness sakes enough of the terrible closeups of children with laughable blank stares.
