I was OBSESSED with with movie as a girl..is that weird?

I first saw this movie on cable when I was about 10 years old. It horrified me and kept me awake for many nights.

However, for some reason, I wanted to watch it every chance I could. Every month I would pour over the cable guide to see if it was on. On the rare occasions it did show, usually in the middle of the night, I would set my Hello Kitty alarm clock to wake me up so I could sneak to the living room and watch it.

I even developed a crush on one of the boys in the film, the one in the plaid shirt. I thought he was super-cute except for the mutantism.

For the first time in over 20 years I watched clips from the movie on YouTube and I still got chills even though it is more comical than scary.
