I borrowed it from my local library. I didn't even know it existed. I saw the car and it said it was like Mad Max, so I thought okay. Then when I played it I realised it was Australian and had a young Steve Bisley in it.

The car sequences are very chopped up with the editing and quite different to Mad Max, more rushed. Steve Bisley drives around in a modified Holden ute with a Chevy-style rear grafted onto it. At one stage he is trying to get away from a Ford Fairlane that is chasing him on a bush track.

It had some weird moments but was okay. Don't think I'll be watching it again though. Was good to see everyone so young and happening. I was unable to spot Kim Gyngall and Frankie J. Holden however.

Frankie J Holden and Mel Gibson are featured at the start of the movie when Steve Bisley is about to leave the mechanics workshop with his sexy wife.
Not a bad movie for it's time.

I really didn't understand the end of the last car chase. What's the motivation for the head bad guy to make that decision?

I've just seen this. Found an old Australian VHS cassette of this movie, I'm from Sweden and got it from a bargain bin of old VHS movies, kinda fun finding an Aussie movie up here in the north :-D

And the movie is actually pretty good! Lots of familiar faces from 'Mad Max'

It was such a rush watching this movie! It's stylish and beautiful and the soundtrack's great. There are no slow spots whatsoever. Italians used to make similar themed trash, which lacked everything that makes this movie so very sturdy.

Wow, an Aussie video casette in Sweden! Quite a find. I've never seen Swedish video tapes here, on the other hand. :)

I went to Kmart and found a compilation of 5 disaster movies on 1 DVD. I thought it was pretty good.It had EPICENTER, THE CHAIN REACTION, THE DAY THE EARTH MOVED,FIRE FROM BELOW and, THE DAY THE SKY EXPLODED.
