At the end of the movie the bald woman says
"Cindy its all over."

So I'd say she lives.

Well, that's were you have to use your imagination. Hess, as we know, is killed off in a rather fantasticly slow and over the top death. And much deserved. So, you just have to imagine that her cuts (Cindy's) were seen to and an ambulance perhaps was called. This all taking place after the film has ended of course. Just have to think of your own ending for her. Plus it was kinda explained in a way. You see Hess was having his fun and games as he does, he was stopped mid cutting by his friend, he then turned on him, stabbing him, right? Hess then feels guilty, the good guys get the upper hand, take him to the pool and bang. So the outcome for Cindy was for her ordeal to have been stopped mid slashing, you see. And as I said, the end bit is for the audience to decide. The bald lady does however come over to her and tell her everythings okay now, or words to that effect. I put down what I think happens anyway. Films don't have to tell you everything, and not all films round off or end the way you might think they do, or even you'd like. Hope this helps you - Joe.

One things for sure, I bet she doesn't come around to one of their partys' again in a hurry. So to clarify - Cindy is slashed, she's alive, and is probably on her way to hospital. Though the police were called by that blonde haired guy who seems unaffected from his head being knocked a few thousand times on the table. So Cindy may have to stay and give evidence or perhaps the police will follow her to the hospital for a statement. The possibilities as you can see are endless. But if you see that the black girl let's her know that it's all over, ya pretty much can work out by this time that she's safe, her ordeal is over and that soon she will be taken care of. As for john morghen the other guy, The unexplained ending could be said for him. But the obviousness of that is, like I said, the police are called, so that's where he obviously ends up - in jail.

On the audio commentary it says that she was a robot and she malfunctioned after she was cut. Her head was supposed to explode before the other man (the one with the long hair) was able to update her CPU with his C64, but they couldn't afford the effect in the end so they had to leave it open like it is.

That sounds kinda like a shaggy dog cop-out to make her a robot.

can someone tell me what happened to Ricky?

Was Cindy a random guest? She is the one plot hole that I don't like. I totally dug the setup even though somebody had sort of hinted that a gun would appear. Didn't know how it would be used (though it was pretty easy to guess it was in that drawer) so no harm done -- other than how one just casually happens to find a gun in a drawer, all loaded & ready to go. Never mind.

But was Cindy in on the deal, or did she just sort of swing by after seeing that the lights were on? I recall catching a line to that effect, I think it was Lisa who said something about someone seeing that the lights were on. Was Cindy a neighbor?

I'm pretty sure Cindy was in on it all. When she first comes into the house she is all flirty straight away with Hess, you can see that the others are trying to tell her that they have lost the upper hand by their facial expressions. If she was just a random nieghbour then she wouldn't have latched on to some random guy at the party the second she stepped through the door.

Yeah, did you guys notice that Cindy was the only one in the movie who showed any "real fear." I mean, obviously the rest of them were scared, but she looked really terrified... I don't think she was a "part" of the plan. In any case, pretty good movie... but Hess should have died in a more gruesome manner. I was thinking of things that they could have done to him and, bleh, I guess going over the top would have been hard explaining to the police.

I don't think Cindy was in on the plan either. She would have been terrified in any case... the movie made sure to convey her as totally vulnerable.

I think it's a great contrast when Cindy says Hess is good-looking and grabs onto him; it made me think she was the slut of the group, which we find out she is anything but.

Either way, I can't stand that plot hole.
She got slashed up remarkably bad. Yeah, I'm sure she volunteered to get hacked up. I'm sure they were all watching contently thinking "the plan is going well" while Hess cut her up.
I don't see her living through it, but that's just me.

You just don't get it... Her getting sliced and all was NOT part of the plan... Nothing that happened to them was part of the plan! They were supposed to get Alex right after the poker game when they tried to beat him up, but Alex got the upper hand, that's it... The plan didnt work out as expected, nothing was supposed to happen to them.

Cindy came in the house confident that the plan was working, that's why she was kind of flirty with Alex, but when she realized that the plan wasn't working out she got scared.

Do you really think that they could have predicted that Cindy was gonna get sliced or anything that was gonna happen?

>>Do you really think that they could have predicted that Cindy was gonna get sliced or anything that was gonna happen?

When you invite a rapist murderer to your home you are not expecting social work. In order to claim justifiable homicide they had to allow Mr Charisma to do his usual handywork. It's quite simple really. You just ring a nubile acquaintance who has her entire life ahead of her and say, "Listen, babe, I'm having a little get together saturday and we're inviting that creep who did my sister. Would you mind coming over and getting scarred for life over every inch of your lovely body so I can get closure?" Of course she will be entirely enthusiastic. "Sure, it's not a member of my family but you've taken me to some cool parties, so why not? See you at eight! I'm sure it will be a blast!" And it certainly was (crosses legs.)

Of course, it's not a good idea to get sentimental and leave a living witness to your plan or fail to consider that such villians would immediately ransack the joint for valuables and find the gun. But hey, the plan worked and that's all that matters. Of course, saying to Cindy, "listen, babe. Could you stick around and clean the pool - it's got someone's guts floating around in it" may be pushing the boundaries of friendship a little too far. After all, you can leave that to the help. Unless they had a Pina Colada with David Hess the night before.
