House at the edge of the Park vs. Last House on the Left

I've seen Last House on the Left, and thought that it was pretty good (It got a 6.5/10 from me)

A lot of people compare Last House on the left with House at the Edge of the park.

How are the movies similar and different? Which is better?

I'm a House on the Edge of the Park guy. I just like the feel of the movie. Normally I need someone to at least identify with or root for in a film, but I like the constant changing of power in HOTEOTP. Everyone is a bad guy in it at some point. In fact, I just ordered a shirt of the film from rottencotton.com

It's 100% safe. They're a great group, they do really nice work with the shirts, and despite the "rotten" nature of the site, they communicate very well with the customer. Seriously recommended for horror fans. I've gotten about 8 shirts and a hoodie from them so far.

Park is better. Location, cast, music and atmos are all perfect. Left is pretty dodgy IMO.

Spot on, especially with the atmosphere. Feels more grounded and real, which makes it all the more horrible.

Last House on the Left. It's more brutal, has a better story, is more interesting, and is just generally the better film in all aspects.

Not that I didn't like House on the Edge of the Park.

I don't lie. I willfully participate in the campaign of misinformation.

Lst House On The Left is a good movie but, at the end of the day, it's jus a standard rape revenge flick (all be it a very good one) whereas House On The Edge Of The Park crosses that boundary into something rarely seen. No other film compares to it, it's sick, preverse and depraved and well justified with it's standing as one of the greatest exploitation flicks of all time. It's a *beep* classic!!!!!!!!

park is easily the best as its directed by ruggero deodato.

I totally agree. "Last House on the Left" seems like a test run for this film. I realize this is pretty much a ripoff of the former, but this is much better acted and directed.

The House On The Edge Of The Park.

I found Last House On The Left mostly boring, and only the ending had some interesting scenes.

The House On The Edge Of The Park, however, while being somewhat silly at times, it still remains disturbing and very entertaining.
