Warner Bros. Archive Dvd release in late July or early August 2009

The Warner Archives DVD is very good. It's letterboxed at 1:85-1 in anamorphic format, and has excellent color. It's great to have such a good copy of this underrated film.

Thanks for the tip! I've been looking for this hidden gem on DVD for a long time.

Has Robbie Robertson been in any other movies? His face in the guitar duet with Clapton in "The Last Waltz" is one of the handsomest, most joyful and naturally sexy expression I have ever seen in any movie.
He was really enjoying himself, playing with the master.
His eyes have gotten dead, over the years, though.

He had a small part in The Crossing Guard with Jack Nicholson and Angelica Huston. But if you are looking for the sexiness he exudes in the Last Waltz and Carny, you'll be disappointed!

If you are a fan of The Band, the "A Musical History" box set includes a DVD of previously unreleased footage from their days in West Saugerties recording Music from Big Pink right through to their final TV appearances prior to the Last Waltz.
