After 30 years, I have to admit something...I'm in this movie...

The ending of Can't Stop The Music was filmed at the Galleria Design Center, here in San Francisco. Even though I haven't yet been able to pick me out in the movie, I was dancing in the crowd

There were parties in the individual showrooms those two nights of filming. Nothing much was happening in mine. So I wondered across the hall to another showroom, where I met Barbara Rush and her close friend, Rock Hudson.

I remember seeing Nancy Walker and Alan Carr --- in a caftan, yet. I don't remember Bruce Jenner being there but, 6° of separation, this was around the same time (+/- a year or two) that OJ Simpson and Nicole Brown came into my showroom. Bruce later married Chris Kardashian.....etc., etc.

In retrospect, Can't Stop The Music was, as Bette Midler might have phrased it, the pits ending to a really pitsy decade.

Bette Midler thanks the 70's was a pitsy decade? Some of the best music and film and theater ever created occurred in that decade. And not to put too fine of a point on it, but Can't Stop the Music is much more fun to watch than For the Boys.

I was a Senior in high school in San Francisco when this was filmed. The Galleria was THE place to have your prom/wedding/event at back then. The class before me had one of their proms there but unfortuately, one of our proms was a Holiday Inn (!) and the other was at a Galleria knockoff. Wish I'd known it was being filmed there, would have been so much fun to go to. The Galleria is still there.
