I Could Have Been in this Film!

I was a college student on spring break, 1978 or 79. I had plans to meet a group of friends in Tenacatita, Mexico up the coast, since I had to work and couldn't leave the US when they were leaving. Well, they didn't show up at the meeting place so I started moving down the coast looking for them. I ended up in Melaque, and a couple of days before I needed to head back to Puerto Vallarta, I went to Barra de Navidad to look for them. I rode the bus and there were 2 british hippies on the bus who said they were making a movie in Barra and they were going to be extras- Nazi soldiers. But they were going to have to cut their hair. They said they needed gringos and I could surely get a job too if I wanted one. Well, one of many lost opportunities in my life, but I chose to continue looking for my sorry ass friends instead of solidifying my place in history as a german soldier in a Charles Bronson movie made on a Mexican beach. I did find them shortly after that-and right before having to return to the US. Barra was completely consumed by the making of this movie. There were German soldiers everywhere, and a submarine in the bay.
