152 minute version?

I just rented the Crash Cinema version of the DVD and it was only 100 minutes. Does anyone know where I can get the uncut 152 minute version of this film?

reply

The UK reg 2 release by Optimum is uncut and a lot better in every other department as well compared to the Crash Cinema version.

See comparison.

Hong Kong edition released last year as part of a collection of about a dozen Toei classics is excellent. Superb, full-length, letterboxed print, beautiful color. Optional English subtitles are erratic, but give you the gist of the dialogue. This is easy to find in any U.S. Chinatown with good DVD stores.

Yes, I have the HK reissue, highly recommend this full version if you can rent it. I would highly suggest you rent it before buying. Over all, it's not a very strong movie, nor does the 152 mins is necessary. Though cutting a full hour from it and slapping on a bad dubbed job is also unacceptable, once you see the 152 mins version, you'll see what I'm talking about, tell me if you can stay up into the 2nd hour.
