this has always been one of my fav films and kinda think it deserves to be known a bit better than it is !! but my point is this... always thought the last 5-10 mins of this film is one of the most awe inspiring and triumphant endings ever filmed !! from the part where dickie coombs tells brubaker "you were right" !! to the look on brubakers face then the inmates showing there thanks( in the slow clapping ) to brubaker in what he tried to do for them !... just gets me everytime and i never get tired of seeing this film and esp the final frames !! brilliant ending !!!!!!!

no mate its not going back to the way it was ! yeh sure they have another warden who looks like to be another hard ass in his place but the inmates have now been given the one thing they didnt have before... hope !! and as they have been shown that humanity is possiable in there fellow man they aint gona accept being treated unfairly again ! there show of defiance and togethernessin the clapping of brubaker hints strongly that they demand to be treated as human beings !

Oh that cheesy and cheap hand clapping thing that´s like something out of a bloody Spielberg movie and nearly ruins the entire film (which was hardly a masterpiece to begin with)...
