was in this movie, when Morgam Freeman's character has David Keith in a head locked, and starts singing R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Not sure but I think Freeman spelled it R E C P E C T - which makes it even more hilarious ROFL... I could be wrong though.

I expected them all to break out in song. Sock it to me ...

Yeah, too bad Freeman hasn´t been doing these kinds of things as here or in Street Smart after he became Hollywood´s resident Wise Negro in the early 1990´s.

Just saw this film on the MOVIES channel last night---it was a little better than I thought. I remember seeing cable commercials for it way back in the day, but I'd never seen it---it reminded me a little of COOL HAND LUKE,then come to find out that CHL'S director also did this film! I don't even recall whether this film was a big hit or not, but it's definitely underrated, for some reason. Liked the case because they looked like actual prisoners, and it was cool to see a younger Morgan Freeman as one of the prisoners, and Yaphet Kotto, who was always worth seeing in anything back then. Wouldn't mind seeing it agsin, because it was pretty good, too.
