Stop applying 21st century social norms to OLD Eastwood films!

I've read several STUPID posts about this film and its dated, social ideals from people who act as if it was released in 2013. Well it wasn't released in 2013, it was released in 1980 (and most likely written in the mid-1970's or even earlier). What I want to say to these folks is GET OVER YOURSELF. It's a friggin' 30+year-old MOVIE not a social commentary.

Bronco Billy is nothing more than a former New Jersey shoe salesman who followed his dream of being a Wild West showman and eventually fell in love with a lost New York socialite and heiress. That's it. It's a movie, and AGAIN, not a social commentary.

Rudy,

I fully agree. I hate when people film make 30+ years with today's PC crap.

I bet your like me and would love a time machine and go back to the late '70's early '80s, have the world attitude stay the same, but still move forward in the technology area...aside from....

But maybe rid the world of cell/mobile smart phones and Xbox's/Playstation's so kids get off their asses and actually get outside and enjoy life.

I actually don't mind those items, computers and the internet, but not when it completely takes over lives.

I could go on forever about how it annoys me that all my (3) nephews do is spend all day everyday inside the house World of Warcraft, rather than enjoying the world.

They might as well be in the 'Matrix' !!!!

Oh back to Bronco Billy, I kinda liked it when it first came out, but it was just on a late movie (1.00am) and I totally enjoyed much better than I remembered - though I'd had a few beers!

The only problem is I'm not particularly of fan of Sondra Locke.
But if Clint loved her, what'd ya do, that's his business!

Actually, I thought it was full of social commentary. It came out in 1980, the end of the Carter years and the time of the country's malaise as the president described the US. Here was a movie full of hope that people could be more than they thought. The tent made out of flags shown at the end of the movie put the final stamp on it.
