Love how this film still gets a crowd going.

I've seen this film on the big screen about three times with varying audience sizes, ages etc and everytime the crowd has an absolute BLAST. It's so full of jokes, weird asides, odd set pieces and awesome music that the films LONG running time and deliberate pace doesn't wear out the crowds I've seen this with at all, they're laughing, singing and sometimes even dancing right through to the end.

Lucky guy.

I've never caught it on the big screen going back to as a kid in the early eighties, tho' I've owned it in just about any format available. I just got through watching it and realized I'd never been to it's IMDB board so it's nice to see it's alive and kicking.

My mom n sister always tune out when it gets to the car chase for some reason. Too OTT for her. Me, I love the whole thing. The music, comedy, and car chases just never gets old for me.

I wanna see it on the big screen! Where's it playing?

it's notable i always find that during the last of the car chase there is no music playing. i love some of the camera shots, like when you see "the good ole boys" trailer pulling in. looking at this movie it appears like everyone has passed on except for dan aykroyd, and there aren't many famous artists of this music genre any more, for years i have thought this would kind of be impossible to have a third instalment of. about the line "i used to be a bouncer here back in the 1970s", i think this was even shot in the 70s (1979). i agree with others here that john candy plays a really likeable guy, candy, aykroyd and ray charles re joined in the movie "nothing but trouble" in 1991 (ray opens up the movie with a tune especially made for that movie as far as i know), and on that movie's soundtrack, aykroyd again puts on the role of elwood blues, i'm guessing a lot of people don't know that. with commercials this runs for close to 3 hours. pretty epic for an 80s comedy.

thought you were a bore,
you put on dress that made my jaw hit the floor,
as on your boobies landed my eyeballs,
like a ufo came down,
took my mind,
out the door you left,
me a mumbling mess.
