John Candy

I love his character Burton Mercer, he has a sense of humor about everything. Even when he crashes into a truck he just laughs about it.

I don't think his laugh was humorous in nature.

That sceme reminds me of a scene from "Smokey and The Bandit" when a cruiser plows(or does it land?) into a semi.
"Son, can you let me off at the next exit?"
"Beep Beep."

was the police (john candy) a kindred spirit? notice how all the cops (along with others) were all furious and couldn't wait to bust the blues brothers, all the while candy joked with the other cops after elwood left them the wrong address - "you know i kind of liked the wrigley field bit" and an angry cop replies stone faced "yeah, real cute", not to mention candy's point and flirt while jake performing on the stage "sweet home chicago", one of my favorite camera working bits of the movie, well probably the favorite one, it's so neat, jake looking completely caught off guard and confused 😕 by candy's mix of pure joy 😁 in synch with the song while flirting 😉 and finger pointing at 👉 jake 😯 on stage like having fun just waiting to bust him 👈 😉 👋. i love how about every topic on this board is quotes from the movie, it's one of those flicks where the lines just stick, different lines from the movie have even been used repeated in the family guy series. john candy popping up from the backseat: - "hi, wanna hand me the mic? thanks a lot. hi, this is car... what number are we?" cop: - "five five" candy: - "car fifty five... um... we're in a truck.", by the way, funny how that truck driver just kept on heading down the highway and like didn't react to a police car with sirens on crashing into his trailer load shipment 🚛.

40 years later, that line and the "we're in a truck" line are still hilarious!
