Diane Lane Turn Down Role as Em

Diane Lane along with Brooke Shields were two of my biggest crushes during my halcyon teenage years. Not until I came across this article back in the 80's I didn't know that Diane Lane was also offered the role of Emmeline but turn it down. I would wonder how this film would have turned out if she have decided to do it. Also the article mentioned the rivalry between Brooke and Diane as one would have imagine as both of these young actors have graced the covers of the TIME magazine during the early 80's
