Never understood the hype

Soft porn disguised as a story...and a thin one at that. I know worse films have been made. But why sit through several hours of the directors sex drive in action?

reply

because brooke shields is to die for, and i don't even fall for girls but for men, but for brooke in this movie i would make an acception

reply

Yes...as I said it's just soft porn. I would fall for her to if she still looked like that. For me though it takes more than a hot girl to make a great movie. I can get porn off the net for free anyday. Why would I pay $10 to sit in a theatre full of people for 2 hours just to see some tits and ass?

Don't need to take her to the movies for that. lol

How much porn do you think you would have been seeing on the Internet in 1980?

My friend Tracy had me buy this for her. She hardly ever looks at porn, on or off the Internet. It isn't the nuuuuuudity, it's the romance.

My niece commented on the beautiful island and, yes, the beauty of Brooke Shields. If she ever looks at porn, she's done a good job of keeping it secret. Again, it's the romance.

Romance is Porn in the chick world. Take Romance Novels, they are nothing more than literary porn to get women off. Yes it may be the "island" just like guys read Playboy for the articles.

reply

Are you saying that the island isn't beautiful? This has been called "scenery porn" and is featured in the Lord of the Rings movies and in Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo.

Just because a movie has nudity, and you don't like the story, doesn't make it porn. It simply means you didn't like the movie, and decided to not make it a complete waste of time and use the nude scenes to get off. I do find it amusing that you put in your comment about you getting your girlfriend all hot; and in the same thread make some generalized, sexist, condescending comment about girls getting off on romance novels. This isn't 1950. We like porn, too. But, don't waste your time on Blue Lagoon - check out real porn. It will amaze you and you don't have to worry about the storyline. I wouldn't do the online crap, though.
