Inexcusable Errors - Seriously!

I was just watching again after many, many years via Netflix. Aside from errors mentioned in the Goofs section, there are some pretty inexcusable visual discrepancies in several scenes.

At one point we see Emmeline with quite a noticeable pregnancy bump in her white dress. However, when she is perched up against a tree giving birth the bump has gone and her hand is resting on an almost flat abdomen.

Now here comes the ABSOLUTE ruination of an otherwise fair movie - the baby crying from hunger in the hut. We assume this is still a newborn because Richard suggests he may be hungry but clearly they have not fed the baby because they are clueless as to what he eats. As Emmeline approaches her stomach is flatter than a prepubescent teenager's and absolutely flawless. Plus her breasts were not in any way made to appear in lactation stage.

This are such simple things to observe and to execute and it is sloppy mistakes such as these that really mar the overall credibility of an otherwise so-so film. I honestly can't understand why these anomalies were ever passed.

I think your Royal Highgrand Holiness, that the anomalies you have expressed would have been deliberate. The film was wanting to represent beauty on a visual scale and not wanting Emmeline to look any less attractive than she did before the inception of her baby. Shields had nude body doubles in some scenes too. I enjoy this film and some of it's superficiality still makes it endearing to me. Here are some 💐 for you and perhaps a nice shady 🌴 for you to rest under, so you can take a breather and not worry so much about something that is negligible in the overall context of the film. 😉

Seeing Christopher Atkins frontal nudity - as well as nearly nude the entire time he as oncscreen, made all those errors and goofs entirely forgivable.
