Why the blurred ass-cracks?

I'm watching this on ME TV and, in order to make the film acceptable for broadcast, they blur out all the body parts when there's nudity.

I understand the genitals and female boobs (I really could care less about boobs), but I can't understand why their ass-cracks can't be shown. The same network shows reruns of "The Brady Bunch" - and they didn't blur Robert Reed's ass-crack when it was exposed in the episode when the whole family goes camping.

It's really distracting to watch this film and then see a blur where there should be a great view of Christopher Atkins' white hot smooth bare ass.
