This old gem of iconic director ROBERT CLOUSE should be revisited !!!

This was Jackie Chan first Hollywood picture.
This was also a picture directed, produced and musically written by the same crew from ENTER THE DRAGON (considered by many the greatest martial arts film ever made).
Meant to be as a vehicle for Jackie Chan, this film didn't do well at the box office when it first came out in 1980.
Critics labelled as "poorly made".
Today, this old gem has been re-discovered and revisited by both critics and public, but most importantly by fans of the genre.
It has its own quality and several shining points to offer.
Jackie Chan is simply amazing in everything he does, whilst Robert Clouse provides a strong and skillful direction in an unusual 1930's context.
The supporting cast (which includes Mako, Larry Drake from DARKMAN fame and several others) is a bonus, also.
This film gets better with age and time.

I was never a big fan of Jackie Chan as a kid and I think this is the first martial arts movie of Jackie's I'm seeing in its entirety. I was pleasantly surprised. The movie is enjoyable and Chan was very good. Mako was the MVP for me though. I love the guy.
