Is it me or did at least wo critical characters seem to have disappeared by the end of the film? What happend to Mai Ling, and to Juggs. It seems they were important as far as Jerry's reasons for the competition and his finial fight with Legetti in the movie house but you left wondering what happened to them, I have the directors cut and they still seem to have neevr made it to the end. I know this was a basicly low budget movie and first american movie with Jackie, but bith he and the director were veterans of many other projects that were incredible what happened in this movie. Over all not to bad but could have been better.

Well, Juggs got beaten up after the rollerskate race (which was quite cool), and I think it's assumed that he is too badly hurt to be in the picture any further. As for Mai Ling, she was being by the mob boss until Jerry won the fight. Again, it is assumed that she was released afterwards. Yes, it was a bit sloppy, but still enjoyable. I got this from a discount bin, and it's great to watch when you're after an enjoyable dumb action flick.

Mai Ling and Juggs got distracted because they were too busy having some "nice nice."

I'm far more interested in what happened to Kristine DeBell. Did she retire?

The last line of the film is Domenici saying something along the lines of "Mai will be waiting for you in Chicago, everything will be all right" or something like that. So that addresses her.

I also finished watching this movie thinking "What the heck?" when he never returned to get Mai Ling.
But it was sloppy.

She didn't retire looks like she took a break between 1990 and 2012 http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0213374/. But she's back now and has a twitter account.
