Does anyone know which country it is where he proposes, I noticed he spoke to the strangers who picked them up in French so I figured it may be Cameroon but it may also be Tunisia or Morocco (the snake charming is key here) because they speak French too.

On the DVD, Theresa Russell mentions that it was Morocco in her interview.

shareIt would be quite strange if it was Cameroon. First of all, the people don't look Cameroonian, they look Berber and Arab. Secondly, the plane they leave on is shown, and it's written in Arabic, which isn't common in Cameroon. Thirdly, the scenery is obviously North African. Lastly, the closing credits identify the film as being shot on location in, among other places, Morocco.
